Surely, we can't be the only 2 affected by this!!

I've done some Googling but cannot find a fix!!

"Not terribly impressed that such updates are allowed to be issued."
it was the operating sys that you updated not openplotter that caused the problem.

I’m having the same issues too. Also using a MacArthur HAT, pi5 with NVMe SSD.

Just an idea...
I'm thinking for some kind of "preventer" plugin which will read the forum's activity and show it as notification in SignalK. At least for some threads marked as "important" or "critical", idk...
By this way I hope more OP/SK users can be notified in shortest time for critical situations, like this, preventing undoable actions

I built the system without the Pi updates and I have got it working, slowly trying to get the other functionality of the 1 wire etc of the MacArthur HAT working.

I've been waiting for someone, who knows, to come up with a fix because it is a major job for me to re-install & start from scratch!! I did have backups but I never got around to getting them off the pi!!

It looks like everyone has jumped ship from here!!

I did some further investigation. I tried installing a fresh image without the RPi issued updates. The image worked well until I then applied the RPi updates. The Pi then booted to desktop without the banners and quick start ribbon.

I tried using a terminal window and although I could type, the Pi didn't respond.

I then did a fresh install and the applied the RPi updates before installing the openplotter updates and configuration. All was good until I got to the MacArthur HAT. I configured the power on and off OK but when setting up the NMEA MCP251xfd, the Pi showed the same problems as before, upon reboot.

Hope this info is useful and someone can use to resolve.

I'm about to bite the bullet & do a new install but the boat is getting hauled out & I won't have a lot of time for the Pi5 so could be a while.

Has anyone heard from Sailoog, or tkurki, or Adrian lately????????
