is cooling needed for MdArthur Hat
#1
Im planning a Raspberry Pi 5 based open plotter installation on my boat.  For years I have used a laptop, in the nav desk, with a separate screen, keyboard and mouse at the nav station in my pilot house boat.

I am planning on using a Raspberry Pi 5 with a McArthur hat and NVMe base but want to break the system into a couple of cases so it will fit in the nav desk with enough space around the components for adequate ventilation.

My plan is to put the McArthur hat in a separate case and connect it to the raspberry pi with a ribbon cable.

I will definitely provide active cooling for the pi but was wondering if the McArthur hat also needs cooling.

The MacArthur HAT itself doesn't require cooling.

The one thing that can get warm is the optional power module, depending on how busy the Pi is, and how many peripherals are powered off of it. If the case is fully enclosed, some kind of active ventilation may be necessary.
