New Py Zero 2 W is Out!
I dont think the power consumption is changed much with the new image. The consumption is higher for pi with more cores, but these also boot much faster.

Exactly Sean
It is of course the pi zero 2W which in principle consumes more than double the pi zero W

Huh  Is there any progress on images that work on Pi 5?

I started working on an image using tinycore 16. I got it to boot a few weeks ago, but then I had to move again.

I have been moving from place to place for a month now and unable to get much done. I am hoping to get a chance to work on this more this month.

This thread will go on for years it seems !
I have a tinypilot with pi zero 2. I choose pi zero 2 because is waaaaaaay faster in booting, bring web page up etc. I am not concerned about the extra current consumption because i am located in Greece and we have plenty of sun  Big Grin

I have flashed the latest firmware from Stelian tinypilot13-20240915.img so i am using tinycore13.

Enough with facts lets go to my actual question:
What pypilot master from github should i use ? stelians fork(master or tinycore13 fixes?) or Seans master?
Can i use either of those and the difference between Tinycore 9 and Tinycore 13 is only in the Tinypilot repository and not in actual pypilot code ?

I am updating with these commands after waiting for DONE in /tmp/bootlocal.sh and have transfered the cloned repo from my pc to ~/ tinypilot directory with scp:

Code:
cd ~/pypilotUpdate
sudo sv d pypilot
sudo sv d pypilot_web
sudo sh pypilot.build
sudo filetool.sh -b
sudo reboot

Yes, mostly there are not significant changes to the pypilot code for more than 1 year now.

I am hoping to bring out an image with tinycore 16 soon, but I am too busy trying to build the sonar.

That was a laconic reply Sean. Unfortunately, i dont feel confident my questions are answered...

If you could provide a clear answer if your pypilot master can be used in tinycore13 image and if i am updating correctly, i would be grateful.

Thank you !
Sonar seems an interesting project. There is no opensonar device or code,as of my knowledge, and they are expensive.

Yes, you should be able to run pypilot master on tinycore13.

I would start with https://popies.net/pypilot/

Then update pypilot from master, and run ". pypilot.build" and reboot is simplest.

I think what I meant to say was there are not many updates in pypilot master since that image was made so you might be able to just use it as it is.

I would like to try this bluetooth remote function that is on master. This is why i want to update! Thanks !

Yes in that case it makes sense.

There might be no ssl support on tinypilot which means you can't directly clone from https on github. Instead you need to clone on one computer locally, then clone or pull from that machine to the tinypilot, or copy the files directly.
