I agree this feature is certainly less important that supporting new hardware and raspbian !
But is any idea other han "the new version" to be condemned, rejected and burned in the flames of hell ?
I think it is of real interest, even for those who are not familiar with, or interested in, node JS...
After all, why do we make Openplotter, anybody can install OCPN on Duster, isn't it ? (well, when the duster bugs will be corrected...)
Also it would bring another brick to OP versatility, making it a more complete, quieter and even cooler solution !

I did not condemn the idea, just wanted to point out that at this point in time there are probably more important things than computer fan control.

Great , thanks for sharing. .... just a thought as the supply voltage seems to be rather critical for our raspi - can you also show the supply voltage in this NR - how would this be done?

Did a diagram I hope helps. In this case I used a TIP 120, NPN Darlington transistor, since I had a spare.  A 3 Amp 5V powersupply is enough to source, a SDR receiving AIS, direct via the RPi USB port
