pin out serial/usb
#1
Just received my Pypilot motor switch unit. With no instructions how to connect this thing to my Raspberry Pi.

There a serial cable but no pinout.

The information is rather scarce. Why not add a simple instruction leaflet. Also on the Pypilot site I cannot find how
to conect the Pypilot.

It looks if the unit has been used before and is not new.

I bit disappointing.

Regards,

Bram

Are you disappointed because it looks like it has been used? If it's used, it's known to work, but these controllers don't actually wear out or anything like that.

The controller has 4 wires to the pi:
Brown - 3.3v (pin 1)
White - TX (pin 8)
Blue - RX (pin 10)
Black - GND (pin 6 or 9)

The 3.5mm bullet connectors are for the motor/
The red and black wires are for power.

I will post a datasheet on the site soon.

Hi Sean,

time to get my Pypilot working. I like to use your 12 volt connectors. Can you give the type of these connectors. They seem unknown here.

Bram

the motor connectors are 3.5mm gold bullet connectors you can solder to, or just splice the wires.
