Raspberry Pi 4 released!
(2019-08-14, 08:39 PM)Sailoog Wrote: NEW update of OpenPlotter 2 beta available. If you have already installed the "OpenPlotter Settings" app you can update through the app itself, for new installations follow this: http://forum.openmarine.net/showthread.p...79#pid9879

It contains fixed errors and the app openplotter I2C is fully working. Xygrib is added too.

Next week we will be sailing so no updates Smile

Hi !

Installed OP V2/SK/OC, on Rpi4, and it just worked !!!
Awesome job You guys have done and I really like the new approach with separate packages for each funktion.

Today done some tests on board the boat with a Navico AIS transponder and can confirm that it works very well. I'am using an Faytech Touchscreen. The Egalax driver for the touchscreen set was easy to be installed in OpenPlotter 2.0

Then I tried my Canable canbus boardje. After some fiddling with the settings in SignalK this also works. Now I have nmea2000 output to Nmea183 be used in OpenCPN.

Not used the can settings in the OpenPlotter menu.

To get this working, you have to initiate the Canable board first in de terminal. Then switch on the transponder to activate the NMEA2000 output. Start the SignalK server. And then you get this. See image with AIS object and GPS. (sorry image much too large.) Now screenprint added.

Yep I am testing it when I can.

OpenPlotter beta version 2.00 is running here allready for some time.

NMEA2000 input to NMEA183 is working perfect via SignalK.

It runs so well, that I have the Pi4 with OP 2.00 beta fitted on the boat.

The AP setting was missing, but this has been solved with the update panel.

Most of the work has been done. The combination RPI4 en OP 2.00 beta works allready very well.

Works also on my RPI 3 and 3B+. However if you shutdown the session on an RPI4, You cannot use the same SD in the RPI3. Does no longer start on the RPI3.

Regards,

Bram

What do you mean by AP -- access point or autopilot?

Access  Point. It was not possible to change the name and the password. But that is solved.

Would Openplotter run on it without tweaking?

Have had a RP 4 and cant get Openplotter to load via NOOBS or inserting previous working card.  Any suggestions?

Noobs is based on Linux Stretch and does not work on a RPI 4. You need the Linux Debian Buster version.

The wait is on OpenPlotter 2.00. Although If you take the beta version it allready works.

Bram
