NMEA to openplotter/RPi
#11

i do know what you mean you dont need the openplotter serial device to connect it to signalk
do you have a link to it.?

You activate the Canbus adapter with a string in the terminal as can0 with a bitrate of 250000. Then go to the SignalK settings and switch
on OPcan, OPnmea0183 and N2K AIS to NMEA183. ( The other way NMEA 0183 to NMEA2K is also possible with another plugin)

You have indicate what you like to receive in NMEA183 from NMEA2K.

Restart SignalK

And make the settings in Kplex.

And then you have AIS and GPS in OpenCPN and the SignalK instruments available.

If there is some interest in this I can give a detailed description.

Regards,

Bram

Oh, one remark. If you use only an AIS transponder. You have to do the RPI setup first and then switch on the transponder. Otherwise the Nmea2K connection is not activate on the transponder.
