Messed up Python, messed up Open Marine
#1
Hello,

I installed openmarine yesterday, got charts and I love this little thing. However, I was going back and forth on python versions, trying to get my script to work. Long story short- apparently in these version iterations I've lost all my open marine- spesific apps and even the open marine status checker doesn't fire up during bootup.

Easiest would be to do a clean reinstall, but as I've already purchased o-charts I was wondering whether this is still salvageable? What packets should I load and how to locate those?

Thanks,

Tuomas

so I got it back up and running by running the dpkg for the deb repository, took a bit of a googling. For the love of me I can't understand how uninstalling and installing python does this, but it's all good now.

if you want to play with your openplotter and torture it, it is a good idea to buy the o-charts dongle because you will end up losing your license for sure Smile

or you can also torture a different SD card

that's not a bad idea. since I'll be messing  around with signalK and arduino, I might do just that. SignalK looks fantastic product, now I'm starting to plan how to make it talk with arduinos.

I've had the same thing happen to my tinypilot. I have not tested it since as I had what I needed to build an open plotter RPi with the Mhat.
Following.
