How to get IMU heading to NMEA2000?
#1
I have recently started a hobby project to create a compass that feeds data to my NMEA 2000 network, with a B&G Vulcan 7 FS as the centerpiece. Openplotter seems really great but there are yet so many concepts and terms that I don't know or understand. I have a RPi3 up and running, and an IMU that I successfully connected to the system and that gives the correct readings in OpenCPN.
But now comes the hard part - connecting the RPi to the NMEA 2000. I have a DualCanberry 2.1.2 but I can't find any information where to go from here. I added a MCP2515 unit in CAN Bus 2.1.1, but after that I am lost! Please help, or at least point me in the right direction.
