Best setup for my boat
#1
I am about to start my autopilot build, but i am a little confused about what software i should use;
My boat is diesel powered, so power consumption is not an issue.
I plan a setup like this;

*Standalone autopilot on a Raspberry PI - with display and button panel.  I will use a H bridge to control my hydraulic pump.
The new tinypilot image with support for RF remote and better display seems like a good start.
Or may i run PyPilot on Raspbian instead? (and still get display an buttons)

*OpenCPN on another Raspberry Pi. This i have aleready running on a Rpi4, so i guess i just need the plugin to control the autopilot ?
I will do a lot of testing and modifications, so my autopilot should be able to follow an compass course, even if OpenCPN is down.

Will my setup work as i have planned it ?

Run the tinypilot, and you can use opencpn if you choose to, if there is a problem you can always over ride with your wired buttons, or remote
