It's possible, but the angular hall sensors I am using for rudder feedback need 5v. Their output could be divided, but running at 3v3 would still need 5v for this, so 2 regulators instead of one.. The power savings is less than 1mA.

I'm quite happy to confirm this as well; this weekend I sailed with the latest motor.ino with pwm_style == 2 and it worked perfectly. I needed to find some new gains but I found some that made the boat go straighter than ever. Pypilot it very much worth the effort. Thx Sean.
