TinyPilot Hardware Placement
#1
Hi everyone

I'm putting together my TinyPilot computer and have questions that I hope someone can assist with please.
Specifically, how the IMU, LCD display and infrared sensor mount to the GPIO pins on the Zero.

I refer to one of Sean's YouTube videos where he disassembles the autopilot computer and the motor controller then reassembles.

1. The Nokia LCD display has what appears to be a 2x7 header socket at right angles to the display's 8 through holes and at the top end of the display frame.

2. The IMU appears to have a small PCB attached on top of the top short side (IMU through holes to the left)  the PCB has a 2x5 header socket. On top of the small PCB is the soldered infrared sensor.

3. There seems to be a white power cable soldered to this little PCB as well which is taking 5v and GND via waterproof cable and  connector to the Arduino motor controller.
Edit: I missed that the white cable is the ttl serial (and power?).

The 2x5 header fits in the Zero first followed by the LCD's 2x7. The LCD now covers everything.

I'm at a loss as to how Sean has done this. I am an electronics novice and not sure what I should be looking for in terms of products to buy to replicate this. I really like how compact the entire assembly is.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you.
Neil

Check out more recent schematics.

The video is from hardware from years ago. The original schematic:

More recent version you could also attempt:

Let me know if you have any questions.
