Where do I start?
#1
been reading through this forum for awhile and contemplating on if I should buy a used autopilot or build one of this.

I have a 21ft Parker with Seastar hydraulic steering. I have many raspberry pi 3's and 4 that I can use.

For a starter, being able to steer straight on heading would be great. Can pypilot follow way points on its own as well?

For hydraulic steering, which pump would you recommend? Trying to figure out the list of components but can't seem to find a parts list anywhere specifically one for hydralic steering.

I'd also like to be able to control course from the cockpit using RF, is it possible?

I use this pump http://www.seastarsolutions.com/products...autopilot/
For your boat the AP1219 will be sufficient, you will also need a connector kit and 2 cables (length dependant where you are mounting the pump)
I believe this will be the fitting kit you need http://www.seastarsolutions.com/wp-conte...65502B.pdf
it comes with both types of fittings Orb and Ntp so you will need to figure out which ones your system uses.

Pypilot can follow waypoint via opencpn plugin, but it needs work...
