Connect magnetic sensor as compass
Thumbs Up
I just got the new one in the mail, works perfectly. Guess yours, and mine are bad.
It seems that those modules with the orange capacitor are faulty
after many more samples, it seems the color of the capacitor does not mean it is good or bad for sure.

The most common issue is large accelerometer bias which can be calibrated out but requires the calibration procedure for the accels.

There are many units which have non-working compass or non-working of some gyro axes, or gyro bias very high.

This is particularly bad if the yaw axis ends up not working as it is critical to the autopilot. So far there is not detection if a single gyro axis fails in pypilot yet, so be careful of this, but future versions will need a warning. It is possible to mount the sensors in diff
