Seatalk1 success (but no AIS)
#1
Success today with Seatalk 1 and one of these puppies.
https://www.amazon.de/Channel-Optocouple...p_d_rp_1_t

I have a full Raymarine setup with:
ST40 BiData, ST6002, Ray49e VHF and a C120W chart plotter. There was an existing bunch of wires for the yellow and black connections and I've connected the black via a 4.7k resistor as per https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFOGrBmDhJg

The following data is available when I browse

environment.depth.belowTransducer
environment.water.temperature
navigation.averageSpeedThroughWater
navigation.courseOverGroundMagnetic
navigation.datetime
navigation.gnss.horizontalDilution
navigation.gnss.satellites
navigation.headingMagnetic
navigation.log
navigation.magneticVariation
navigation.position
navigation.speedOverGround
navigation.speedThroughWater
navigation.trip
steering.autopilot.state
steering.autopilot.target.headingMagnetic
steering.rudderAngle

However, with the painful raymarine magic I am able to see AIS info on the chart plotter and I was expecting that I would be able to see this on the Seatalk1 bus but I can't. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Cheers
