Sense Hat

All sensors are supported by OP but...
I agree, having the magnetometer so close to the raspberry and electrical components should not be good.
Calibrating the IMU plugged to the raspberry can be difficult too.
Pressure, humidity and temperature will be affected by raspberry too. And that will be worse if your enclosure is sealed because pressure will be always the inside pressure.
I have not tested anything, just thoughts...

Hello everyone,
I have a few RPi's and a sense hat and am just looking into OP, which seems amazing

I have used the sense hat before and to get around the heating issue I just used a ribbon cable to move it away from the Pi.
The advantage of the SH for me is that (other than I already have it) is it has all sensors on it.
Perhaps the LED could be used for an down below display of something(s) too?
I am headless with VNC on tablet, Phone or whatever.

However, I am having problems getting the temp, press, hygro, heel and pitch showing in the Dashboard, despite the fact that I know the sensors are being seen as I can see there values in the Calibrate window. (and in 0.8 the boat cursor would rotate as I rotated the Pi, although this does not happen in 0.10)

Could anyone give me a step by step from the basics way of doing this?
I saw http://forum.openmarine.net/showthread.p...ight=graph but it made absolutely no sense to me, except for perhaps I have to rename the sensors somewhere?

Thanks

Sorted with great help:

I have had no issues with the current openplotter beta 0.15.1. many of the issues i had with previous versions are fixed.
As far as interference, I treat it like a compass. keep it away from electrical panel and big wires. I have a little cubbyhole at the companion way. the case is mounted but no top as it traps heat. stand offs and drain holes in the bottom incase water finds it way in. the gps lives there too as it is not affected by fiberglass. i have checked it against my bulkhead mounted compass and a good hand compass they all read the same. the humidity and temperature sensors can be adjusted for the heat coming off the pi but it never is perfect. Pressure sensor is fine if i calibrate it for the difference in altitude. ! wire sensors are better for Temperature.
I have tried to use the display but in node red it was a resource glut.
my current setup pi3 picoups, sensehat, gps, Uses .40 A/hr. I use a cheap tablet via vnc to do simple tasks and laptop for every thing else.

Thanks,

Mine is all working great now too, after I updated it (see other thread)

I haven't got the temperature working, but know the problems with that and the Hygrometer, but then I don't need to know that really.

I wont' bother trying to get the LED going then, would probably have been beyond me anyway, and I can see everything from Service K anyway

I didn't know about the UPS PIco thanks for that, I'll get one when they are back in stock, or maybe even a small normal UPS?
