Display posistion of vessels on server webpage
#1
Hi,

I have a fleet of vessels I would like to track and display on a webpage. I have a gps feed of their location, speed, heading etc.

Is there a way to show the plotter page on a server and then add the vessel details to the plot so anyone viewing the web page can see the location of the vessels?

Thanks
Jeff

if every boat has a way to to put something on the internet or transmit AIS, then use the Marine traffic app or webpage and create a buddy list.

there is a plugin for Signal K that will use an internet connection to upload info to Marine Traffic - search for Marine traffic in the app store

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I should have been more clear in my initial question. What I want to do is display and OpenCPN map on a web page and then show the position of these vessles on that web page, with course, speed, track log etc.

I would like it on an open CPN map so I can see exactly where they are releative to hazards, depth etc. Each of the vessels will have an Pi hosted open marine system. I bevlive I can host openmarine on a linux box as well. I would like to host on linux, make web accessible and then plot additional custom information onto the OpenCPN map. Before I get too far down the track, is it possible to plot custom info onto the display like this pls? If so, can you point me in the direction of the associated doco.

Thanks
Jeff
