I'll print you one Mat.  Any colour as long as it's white.

That would be amazing - thanks!
I haven't forgotten you Mat but my printer isn't playing ball with this design or rather my skill in printing needs some work.  Hopefully the warmer weather and some new nozzles will sort the problems.

That would be great - Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing this case design.

It seemed to work and fit, but I had to make some adjustments to get it to fit with the case closed.

I'm using a RPi 5, with Pomoroni NVME BASE, MacArthur with the power module, and also the RTC battery for the RPi 5.

Unfortunately, I had to grind off a bit of what looks like feet on the bottom where the NVME Base sits as there was not enough clearance for the screws that mount the Pomoroni NVME Base to the RPi 5.

Since I had already printed it. it was easier to use my Dremel to grind a bit to make it all fit than to try to adjust the design and reprint. Wink

The grinding caused a bit of a problem with two of the cover screws, but in the end, I was able to make it fit together.

Perhaps make some adjustments to this? It may need a few more venitilation holes also. I haven't evaluated it under use yet.

Again, thanks for sharing your design!

It will be available in May.
Cheers

Did you ever make any progress with the updated design that you mentioned?

Thanks!

Hi @Kism, thanks for this design! I would like to enhance it to also accommodate the DaisyHAT AIS-receiver. I use FreeCAD for these enhancements, and while .step-files can be imported and meshed in FreeCAD, it is not easy to use them for further drawing.
I don't know of course which program you used to create the housing, (would be perfect if it where FreeCAD too....) but could you maybe send me files that are more appropriate to work on them? Maybe even with the enhancements you talked about.
Of course I will publish the new version under the same license.
Thanks,  jehojakim

Hi All!
Happy New Year!

After a slight delay on my initial schedule, I'm happy to share the latest version of the Sandwich case for Pi5+NVMe+MacArthur HAT Case! Cool
Stronger build, better fit, added a push button and plenty of small improvments.

The design is free to download and 3d print on your own at this link!
I will offer a couple of nicely printed cases (asking only for shipping fee from Europe), to dev team, first believers and feedback givers  Angel
Else I will answer my DM if you have a request for print or design. I also accept tips Smile

It needs some patience while sliding your Pi assembly from the back and gently wiggling the ethernet ports to fit in the case. It's a tight fit and shouldn't move much while in place with caps plugged.
My Pi assembly have screws at the bottom instead of standoffs, the case built-in standoffs offers enought room for the nvme.
Push button needs to be firmly be pushed in place at first, and should hold in position.

Happy to see pictures of your cases!

Thanks for sharing your updated version.

I'll look closer at it in a couple of months as my boat is currently shrink wrapped and stored for the winter. My Pi 5 and Macarthur is buried there also.

Hi Kism, I don't have a printer, and since you kindly offered to ship a couple of cases to the members of the forum, I'm asking you if you are willing to send a case to me. I'd be happy to pay for it.
Yours,

Giosang
