Can I drive an "Engaged" led directly from a pi gpio pin?
#1
Im just using push buttons and pi gpio pins to control py-pilot and it would be useful to have a LED indicating whether py-pilot is engaged or not. Is there already a facility for this?

Thanks

Digital pin13 on the arduino is led on when engaged; the pin can drive 20 to 40mA max so can easiliy drive an led with a suitable resistor.

The arduino is physically seperated from the pi and push buttons by about 5M. Ill need to run a 2 core from the arduino to the pi to run a led at the button position. Not really convenient.

You are very right, it would a bit clumsy that way. Too bad that you don't want to invest some time in python, because I do have buttons and an LED attached to my (tinypilot) pizero. You could reuse the custom code with few or no changes.
