Case idea: DIN Rail mount
#1
Hello,

I don't have any Open Plotter system yet, but collecting ideas how to mount the Raspberry and additional HAT's and accessories.

During my expedition I came along a possibility for a DIN rail mount which I want to share and collect your input on.
The advantages of a DIN rail mount is that de Raspberry is vertically placed which gives a lot of room for expansion boards.

This gives also a possibility to add another rail mount in the same case specially for the HAT and place it a bit further away from the raspberry for air flow and cable management and make use of a flatcable to connect each other.

option 1:

option 2:

Both options can be placed in a universal waterproof >IP65 case like which can probably have optional cooling fans (DIY):

So what are your thoughts? Could this work or not...

I like it. It should work even with the MacArthur HAT stacked on the RPi using the official active cooler and an open bottom hole for breathing.
