BBN Comments and Questions
#1
Last April I recieved a pi5.  Tried both openplotter and BBN.  At the time it seems(not benchmark testing) BBN was a little faster, so started using BBN.  Using the pi5 with a Scandisk Exterme Pro with data feeds from Daly BMS via usb using node red and python script.  Vesper XB8000 feeds AIS data through the USB along with wind etc feed into the Vesper nmea 2000 port.  No hats on the Pi. Pi powered on pins at 5.2v using 5 amp breakout board.

Very few issues, but here are few items:

1.) Have noticed that opencpn will lose the charts setup in opencpn and requires setup again.
2.) Won't connect to phone via phone hotspot, but does tether.
3.) Very slow Chromium load times

One major questions; is it possible to customize the desktop icons?  If so how?

thanks
Jim

Sailog,

Thanks for the feedback. I don't post much. Thanks for all the work you have done to provide a low cost alternative!!!

Will try openplotter with the pi5 again.

I did not find where to ask support related to BBN. Could someone show me the way? I use OpenPlotter but am interested to BBN's M5Tough project.
