for anyone else arriving via google - yes all works if you remove the macarthur hat and run a full upgrade. phew!

Sorry to repeat. I have just got back the boat after being away since October last year. Having being caught out in the past I want to be totally sure in my head that I am doing it right.

On switching on I have the usual RPi updates info on the top right bar. This has loads of suggested update. I have ignored this for now as this is what caused the issues previously with the MacArthur HAT.

I updated the openplotter apps from settings and am now on the latest versions. Currently on openCPN installer 4.2.13 and openCPN 1.5.10.2

Do I still need to update as per the previous posts in this thread?

You can update as usual:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
