Menus missing after first update
#1
Pi4b installed openplotter with bookworm. Had everything running perfect then the next day there were updates to install.  Hit update and went fishing.  Came back rebooted system and no more menus. I have the splash screen and I file finder I moved it to the main screen as base  this happened a couple times now.  I reinstalled the openplotter image every time and get the same results.  I can get to terminal by right mouse clicking on a file in file manager. I am running the open plotter default desktop.

Oh man, losing all your menus after a simple update is the worst! I hate when an OS gets too helpful and breaks things. Since Sailoog asked, I'm guessing this might be related to a known bug with NMEA 2000 connections interfering with the update process or the desktop environment on the Bookworm image.
If you're still seeing this, could you try booting up, hitting Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to a command prompt, and trying to update/upgrade from there? Sometimes that bypasses whatever graphical conflict is happening.
