Navico Corus Canbus
#1
Hi, I have a Simrad WP10 / 30 autopilot.
It should be possible to connect it to an external fluxgate compass through teh Navico Corus Canbus system.
This doesn't exist anymore.
Does anyone here know how the Navico Corus network works?
Is it the same as NMEA 0183?

Not the same as NMEA0183. It's Canbus and you can use a generic CAN-USB adapter to connect to it. Does it use NMEA2000 messages though...

However it seems that WP30 has a built-in NMEA0183 - why don't use that?

Hi! The Navico Corus system is different from NMEA 0183. Since it’s no longer widely used, you might need a converter or check if newer Navico systems can connect via NMEA 2000. It’s best to consult with a Navico dealer for specific solutions.
