Compatible Wind Direction / Speed sensor
#1
What have people used for Wind speed / Wind direction sensors?

The new Raymarine sensor is over $1,000

Has anyone installed something cheaper?

It will be connected to my new RPi5 / MacArthur build.

Ideally much cheaper, wired, NMEA and easy to install on the top of the mast.

thanks

Not the cheapest but very happy with my ultrasonic cv7, never gets turned off and no little spinning cups for the seagulls to break ?

I also vote for the LCJ Capteurs CV7. I had one on my last two boats and will put one on my current one once the birds finally crush the Raymarine unit that's up there - I hate that thing! The CV7 has NO moving parts. It is NMEA 0183 or can go direct to NMEA 2000 with their windy adapter. I love that thing!
