Seatalk1 I/O driver for Linux
#1
Hi all,

I've successfully produced a Linux kernel driver for both input and output of Seatalk1 based on Thomas Knauf's technical reference of Seatalk1. I am currently working on rewriting it in order to open-source it. I don't expect mainlining in the Linux Kernel will happen, but I am willing to try.

The main hurdle I am currently facing is trademark and patent terms. I have been unable to find any trademark or patent terms regarding Seatalk-1. I have also not really found any suitable contact information for Raymarine for discussing terms. Are you able to help me with either finding terms, or contact information of Raymarine?

I will update this post once I have source code published or know any more about terms.

Regards,
Rolf
