Ardupilot as autopilot for sailingyacht
#1
I was wondering if I could use the Ardupilot rover as an autopilot for my sailing boat.
I know it's developped for RC drones and RC aeroplanes, but the Rover version also has a sailboat extension.

If I use a Pixhawk hardware, it has a IMU and a compass, so the basics are there.
Instead of a servo, I would need an ESC motorcontroller for the wheelsteering (I have an electric motor to drive the rudder).

Anyone who has tried this before?
