They are using RTD2513A hdmi driver and a custom microcontroller to read out the i2c based touch screen. It then enumerates on usb as touch devices. This makes it compatible to Win, Linux and Raspbian without the need of drivers. I guess the 10.1" display has 350-400 nits only and like all the waveshare displays it has no anti glare treatment. For indoor use it should be OK. Chris

UV stable black backprint and optically bonded. The display fits to the BoPad 10.1 enclosure from Bopla: BoPad 10.1-9016 I got 50 of these custom displays last week. My own CM5 base board with HDMI controller is in production and will be finished next week. I ordered five pcs. of the standard display driver boards just in case someone wants to build a custom monitor solution. One set went to Florida today but still four boards on stock! Chris

The display is fully compatible with the BoPad 10.1 enclosure GeoGuessr from Bopla (BoPad 10.1-9016), making it a great option for those looking for a seamless display solution.
My CM5 baseboard with HDMI controller is currently in production and will be completed next week. Meanwhile, I also ordered five standard display driver boards for anyone interested in building a custom monitor solution.

Model number or 3d model? The model number of the lcd panel is MX-101FL40AFH-N52. The 'manufacturer' is Maxen electronics. Like every other display manufacturers in China they buy standard panels from e.g. Innolux or BOE technology and change the led strip, add cables and touch panels to meet the customers specifications. In this case i have given the specifications (touch panel size, anti glare, touch-controller, backprint, optical bonding, glass thickness) and i paid the engineering fees for the customizations. So you can not buy this display from them directly. ![]() Of course i have the 3d model and drawings. Send me a PM and i send it to your email address! Chris

Thanks for the detailed reply. I thought was a regular, out of the shelf screen, and as, if I'm not wrong, you're in the US, I thought it could better to get it directly from China. According to your answer, there's a lot of work behind it. I Didn't even know that for small batches, we could order electronic items from China. Direct purchases for small quantities I know it's workable in alibaba, but bespoke products with detailed engineered as in this case was something new to me. What is true, is that, and I work a lot with Chinese poeple, (I import goods from China (tuna)) , is that they are extremely easy going and service oriented, and usually for them it doesn't matter if it's a huge order or not. If you can Pm me with price and delivery conditions of 1 unit I'll appreciate it. I have fear the possible taxes and customs clearance costs upon arrival. Thanks!

The display is part of our 10" plotter project. We are using Android 15 AOSP as OS, this is the reason i have not posted in this forum about it. Of course you can use Raspbian or OpenPlotter as well but we can not provide (and maintain) images for all the different OS like OP, BBN, AvNav, Android at the same time. Each OS is a full time project... So we focused on Android because it is the most user friendly and because it is almost closed - the wone with lowest support and maintainance. We support AvNav as navigation software because it is part of open-boat-project, too. So we are able to keep hardware and software development close together. Of course we have an own main board with hdmi driver, power supply, audio amplifier, IMU, usb hub and CM5 directly on board. You will find some picture in the raspberry for boats group on facebook or in the german segeln-forum.de I will send you a PM this evening! Chris |
