my humble advice is to get a Mikrotik LTE router
I personally have an old model, like this: https://mikrotik.com/product/wap_lte_kit
but I am very happy with it, even is only in 2.4HGz, not 5
It does not support zerotier but wireguard is working perfectly (after update to v7.xx)

Given the huge convenience of eSIMs, I am thinking about https://teltonika-networks.com/products/...ut241-esim.
For conventional SIMs there are lots of Peplink routers on eBay that are designed for vehicles.

Hi Jon,

I've been using this solution for several years.
It's probably not the best solution, but it allows me to connect from anywhere via Raspberry Connect and also through remote.it.
For this, I use an old phone, which I power for a few hours a day via a power outlet controlled by a son-off device. If for some reason the phone goes dead, I obviously can't connect remotely until I restart it and activate Internet Sharing.

I wound up going with LINOVISION Industrial 4G LTE Cat4 Cellular Router with Wi-Fi, Enhanced Signal for Remote Sites, Dual SIM Slots, DTU Gateway for RS485 devcie, IoT Sensors, etc.......

up and down speed is plenty for what I will be doing. Remote monitoring streaming music or movies.....
