I2C service not running ...Work Around
#27
(2025-12-25, 04:03 PM)Mitch C Wrote: RPi5 8Gb OP4 running from a SSD with MacArthur hat.
Connected to CAN (Raymarine) network & one wire temp sensors.
All working as expected except for the I2C service not working
I currently have a BME680 & IMU20948 on the I2C system (via the MacArthur hat STEMMA QT/Qwiic connectors), but neither are detected by the system,
I have tried all the hints and advice contained within this thread but cannot get the I2C network to start?

I have installed a complete new image of OP4 via SD card and have the same issue - I2C service not running.
The sensors are working fine on my previous RPi4 setup. Wiring to the MacArthur hat has been checked (and checked again....)

This is the final step in the new install on the RPi5.......what am I missing?
HELP.

Many thanks in advance.

Mitch C
Hi Mitch, I managed to fix the service too, by terminal commands. However, I don't know now how I did it nor which instructions I finally followed. I'm not now at the boat, so if I get there I'll try to find out what I can did.
Thanks
