Thanks, I'll try next time, but that needs soldering

Again having the same issue... Sad  Maiana dead; just solid green light in Mac Arthur as I posted some days ago.

Now it doesnt matter if I unplug everything, Maiana won't restart. Dead again.

It's certainly frustrating.

I'll try with the USB board, but I have no solderer on board, I'll try to get one.

I'll keep it posted here.

I have the exact issues and have been through it all, have not found a solution.  Have tried two maianas and two mcarthurhats, two breakoutboards, lots of rj45 cables, all different installations of openplotter, two rpi4's and a rpi5, different powersupplies, batteries, different inviroments, with / without powermodule, different screens and just about all combinations of the above but I still have the same problems.  Has anybody found the cause of the problems?

hi Dr_Lyn,
let's start over...

can you use the UART adapter? if yes:
- solder two wires on +12v and GND pins.
- connect Maiana to this UART adapter.
- connect UART adapter to a laptop running on battery (do not connect AC charger - the UART adapter is not galvanic isolated)
- if you are on windows you should have a new serial com port available in device manager. on linux you should see a new port like /dev/ttyUSB0
- for windows use Termite, for linux use CuteCom. make the proper connection to the serial port you have.
- connect the soldered wires to a 12v power supply (battery)

- tell me what you see in the terminal application.
send "cli" command and enter the cli mode (for setup and test). is it possible to send the command more than once, depeding on how much data flow you have.
in cli mode you'll be able to send commands to maiana in a "quieter environment", without all the related data flowing fast on the screen
send "sys?" command
send "otp?" command
send "gps on" command. the gps related sentences should start flowing into the terminal window.
send "reboot" command

let me know if you can enter the cli mode and what results do you have for these commands.

if you are able to communicate with maiana the problem is elsewere
you can use also visualgpsview app (for windows) and monitor the gps reception and statistics (but don't try to connect termite and visualgpsview in the same time)

It doesn't sound too optimistic, I think we are too many people suffering this, and afte reading your experience and struggle, so we should assume there's a flaw in Maiana.

Such a pity, hopefully they find out why. ?

New update:

A friend of mine finally desoldered the mosfet as per the tutorial and since the running smoothly. Just 1 drop when charger was in Absortion mode. After finishing, AIS back to life on its own.

BTW, We directly bridged the 2 terminals as recommended.

Version 11.9.1

Thanks for the solution.
