Can't connect to motor controller
#1
Hello,

I am not able to connect the motor controller. (message: "no motor controller!")

I have a pi 5 + mac arthur hat +  7A Pypilot motor controller by NaviTop.

Connection
Green cable Pin 10
Brown cable Pin 8
Blu Cable Pin 6
Black Cable Pin 1

The red light on the motor controller permanently on, the white and green every 10 seconds.

"ls -l /dev/serial0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 31. Okt 22:48 /dev/serial0 -> ttyAMA10"

Do I have to change the seriell connection to AMA0?
If yes, who?

Can you help me please?

A few ideas.

1) Try a pi zero with tinypilot image to verify the hardware first.
2) Yes it expects /dev/serial0 -> /dev/ttyAMA0 You could use other ports if you wire to the correct pins, but you might have the tx and rx flipped or wired wrong. Can you verify with oscope the port works? Can you just jumper tx to rx on that port (instead of to motor controller) and run a program like minicom or screen on the port and verify it echos only when jumpered? Ensure no pypilot process is running.

It is strange to see white and green every 10 seconds, however if you assigned multiple serial ports to pypilot it might take longer because it is probing each one.
