Thought I would post this project I did this fall. It is an 8gb Pi 5 w/active cooler and an M.2 SSD along with a Waveshare 2 CAN hat running OpenPlotter 4.x. It was very inexpensive and has proven to be a very nice addition to my boat.
I don't run OpenCPN but have played around with it enough to know it's possibilities. That app is now quite responsive and refresh's quickly, like newer MFD's do. But I use this primarily for SignalK and another commercial web app.
