MCP23xx / GPIO expansion
#1
Hi,

I now have a rPI5 running open plotter and pypilot, connected to a motor controller. I have been able to control the pilot through switches connected to the pi’s GPIO. Without multiplexing, this requires pulling 4 wires for the motor controller and 1 per switch between the pi and the cockpit, where I would like to locate the controller and keypad. This is not ideal…
I would also rather not add a second pi dedicated to the pilot.

Are I2c GPIO expanders (MCP23xx) or equivalent supported in openplotter?

Regards,
Blaise
