Thanks for Your help everyone. Found one answer using the ai. site. I was impressed with it, not usually impressed with AI.
I have not been able to do anything with the Pi and data until last week. the connector at the mast was beyond to point of a shot of electrical contact cleaner letting signals through. worked for a long time. At 73, soldering very fine wires on the deck isn't easy, so had to wait for the dealer to get to it.
I had open plotter vr 4 installed on a card before I went to the boat. Now I have the network connected and many things working. No real issues until I reached setting up influx db. Cannot size the screen to get past the first few dialog boxes.
Going to check the ai site to see if there is an answer. Screen is a Raspberry pi 7 in.
one other thing to note, when I downloaded in April, and installed ver 4, nothing I did was able to get opencpn flatpack to install. Only had one option so I installed it. every time I ran it, it asked for a login, but was totally non responsive. Didn't bother me, as there was no network connection.
When I worked on the network setup last week, I notice flatpack was there, so I clicked it, let it run, and then no more dialog box. no idea why.
Again thanks very much
