You can use an ina219. It isn't described in the documentation at the moment but the program is already in 0.14 (analog_ina219.py).

It does work with 0-26V 12 bit bidirectional current (with its own 0.1 Ohm resistor +-3.2 A. You have to use bigger shunt with less resitants for higher Amps )
There is an ina3221 which acts like three ina219.
