Hello everyone,
I'm working on a project and am seeking advice on how to best connect my autopilot, and whether I should use the fluxgate compass, MPU-9250, or the internal compass of the Raymarine Axiom 9.
Here's a rundown of my current setup:
If anyone has any experience with these compasses in a similar setup or could provide insights into which might perform better in this situation, your advice would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
I'm working on a project and am seeking advice on how to best connect my autopilot, and whether I should use the fluxgate compass, MPU-9250, or the internal compass of the Raymarine Axiom 9.
Here's a rundown of my current setup:
- Waveshare Isolated RS485 CAN Shield which is connected to my Axiom 9 via nmea 2000
- ST6002 Autopilot Control Unit
- Raymarine SmartPilot S1 (This is without the gyro. I'm exploring the possibility of making a digital gyro submit an analog signal.)
- Raspberry Pi, which will be connected to the SmartPilot via NMEA 0183 (only input data to smartpilot)
- The SmartPilot will be connected to a remote and the ST6002 via SeaTalk, and the ST6002 will then be connected to the Raspberry Pi via GPIO.
If anyone has any experience with these compasses in a similar setup or could provide insights into which might perform better in this situation, your advice would be highly appreciated.
