Looking for clarification re: connection of pot for rudder sense....

Is the pot (and any associated additional connected resistors) in addition to R7,R8 & R9 (J3) or 'in place of' for the connection to A4?

It depends on the motor controller.

The adc voltage range is either 0-1.1 volts or 0-5 volts, so depending on this, there are sometimes additional resistors.
