OpenPlotter - How do you get N2K AIS data from signal K into Navionics
#1
Hi,

I'm having a problem getting my AIS data that I've managed to get into Signal K via my NMEA2000 network, being seen by Navionics.

I have an AIS transponder and I can see the AIS data coming into Signal K and subsequently OpenPlotter using NMEA2000 on the CAN bus interface on my raspberry Pi 4b. I want to be able to send that data out via the Wifi interface on my raspberry Pi so that the AIS data can be seen on my mobile devices that run Navionics.

Navionics only recognises the data in NMEA1083 format and not N2K. I have therefore installed the signal K to NMEA1083 plugin. Although I haven't been able to specifically select AIS data on the plugin, as there doesn't appear to be an option for that.

I have also set up my Wifi as a Access Point (AP) and on my mobile devices running Navionics (both Android) I can connect to the AP.

When I go into Navionics and try to 'Pair the Devices' using the name of the AP and IP address (default 10.10.10.1) and port name (default 10110) of the NMEA1083 server, i.e. the signal K nmea1083 server, it doesn't connect. It's greyed out and just won't connect.

Any ideas what I'm missing, or haven't done correctly?

Many thanks
