will the new McArthur Hat be able to act as a bridge between NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 ???
I am aware it depends on traffic levels but has anyone had chance to do any benchmark testing of this functionality.
Yes, it will. You can connect your NMEA 2000/0183/seatalk1 devices and everything will be converted into signal k format. Configuring your Signal K server you can also send data back to your NMEA 2000/0183 devices (not seatalk1).

Take my money! Just getting started with this whole diy electronics. Pi 5, a bunch of little sensors, ESP32 chips, waterpoof display, exciting stuff. Looking forward to throwing this hat on there.
It's unbelievable how cheap most of this can be done in comparison to commercial plotters and other common boat sensors. Thanks a bunch for everything it seems you bunch do, much appreciated.
thats is the idea enough of being stolen...

Do you have an STL file (or similar, any 3d model file that works with Autodesks Fusion 360)? I'll be grabbing a hat as soon as I can and am working on designs to 3D print cases to hold the various sensors I am implementing on my boat.
I'd like to make one to hold my Pi and MacArthur hat as well, with cooling, and I'd be happy to share my 3D files with the community, or even print them off and ship them
Maybe the file is not available but figured I'd check anyways. Thanks!

Thanks, I hope it is available.
It is not exactly what i am dreaming about, but nice breakout board for Open Marine.
I would like more isolation and protection. however it may work for me, but if it is not readily available, I likely will build my own faster ;-)

That sounds nice! We have added an step file to the github: https://github.com/OpenMarine/MacArthur-HAT
The RJ45 connector is not rendered due to some error but the rest is fine.
You can view the file rendered here: https://3dviewer.net/#model=https://gith...AT-3D.step
Please keep us updated on any progress.
