Alternatively, SASPlanet runs very well on Linux using WINE.

Hi! I have already tried running SASplanet on a third Windows machine with some satisfying results. I made some MbTiles files of Italy coasts then transferred on OpenCPN and so I have got an alternative to the Official O-charts. Unlikely I have bought some S63 files charts but , cause my failure to install S63 Plugin on my Raspberry ( O-Charts rapresentative told me that my Debian version 32bit is not compatible as I need the 64bit for V3 Openplotter version) , I am not able to properly use them, now.
Thank you for your message.
Best regards

Francesco

Tried it on a linux mint machine & it  almost but not quite run - how did you do it?

If it could run on a Pi4 it would be just great, dinghy ashore to happy hour with free wifi for more charts ?

Hi. Really it is not possible to run SAS Planet on a Raspberry device without a Windows software or one of it's application installed. I only selected some geographic areas  and thorough Navionics application on SAS Planet I made the relative mbTiles files and charged them on Openplotter . Of course the charts show a lot of limits but for a limited purpose i.e a close coastal navigation , probably I would be able to check Pypilot ( my main purpose).

It is possible to run SAS Planet on rpi4. It worked on BBN OS.
See this HowTo: https://bareboat-necessities.github.io/m...stall.html
Download BBN Marine OS for raspberry pi

It runs not only on BBN Marine OS but also on OpenPlotter. I followed the bareboat-necessities instructions to install Sasplaneta on my Raspberry Pi 4 and it works great.

another way to create MBTiles is to use MOBAC
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mobac/
Java is needed.
It's also possible to create KAPs
